What is the SCOPE 310
Authority? SCOPE is an acronym for Shoals Committee on Programs and Employment. We are a public, non-profit organization incorporated under ACT 310 of the Alabama Legislature in order to serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. SCOPE does this in a variety of ways at no cost to anyone we serve. Who qualifies for services from SCOPE? Children from birth to 36 months of age that have a suspected delay in developmental milestones are entitled to a full assessment to determine eligibility for Early Intervention services. Eligibility requires a 25% or greater delay in at least one developmental area, or a diagnosis that frequently leads to developmental delays. Services beyond 36 months (3 years of age) are for those with an Intellectual Disability documented by an IQ of 69 or below prior to age 18 and substantial functional limitations in day to day living. Eligibility for services does not mean that services will be provided. Currently there is a waiting list for all adult services. |
